Introduction to basic concepts of historical linguistics; exploration of the major factors of change in the history of the Italian language.
Prereq: Two Italian courses at the 3000-level or above; or Doctoral or MA Candidate; or qualified Undergraduates, and permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 711. FL Admis Cond course.
